January 10 (Reuters) – Police in Los Angeles, California, on Sunday pulled a pilot out of an accident-ridden Cessna just seconds before the plane crashed into a train and sent debris flying in all directions.
According to local media, a dramatic video obtained by Reuters shows several officers rescuing the man from the crashed plane. When officers and the pilot were a few feet away from the tracks, the passing train destroyed the plane.
“The plane landed on the tracks at a failed neglect and popular meeting,” said Luis Jimenez, a 21-year-old musician who filmed the video. Seconds before the impact, police officers rescued the pilot, and a piece of debris hit me.

The pilot was treated for injuries and cuts and his condition is stable, local media reported. Local media reported that no one traveling on the train was injured.

The department praised its officers, saying in a tweet that they “showed heroism and quick action by saving the life of a pilot who made an emergency landing on the tracks.”
