A mixture of studying, time and energy made a formula of success in AMATYC competition

Recently, the math skills of Chabot College students ranked 29th out of 174 two-year colleges for the 2007-2008 school year. The ranking comes from the American Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges (AMATYC) that tests students from two-year colleges and is only open to two-year college students who do not have a four-year degree.
In Alameda County alone, there are 889 people living with HIV (human immunodeficiency virus). Four Bay Area counties-San Francisco, Alameda, Santa Clara and Contra Costa-ranked in the top 10 for rates of HIV. Fifty-eight counties were surveyed and Alameda county ranked sixth while the neighboring county of San Francisco ranked second just behind Los Angles County according to the February 2008 California Department of Public Health report.

Ruben Pola will be the new Chief of Security at Chabot College. The Spectator interviewed him about issues that directly concern students.
Spectator: What is your background prior to coming to Chabot?
Ruben Pola:
I was a member of the Hayward Police Department, and worked in many different fields.
