Hip-hop was created in the 1980s in New York. It is a culture that lives all around the world and captures a young audience.
However, it has both a positive and negative side.

Hip-hop is positive because it gives black people a chance to show their new talent all around the world and open doors for young black artists in entertainment. People live and breathe it everyday and it is strong in the black community.

When hip-hop first started, it was a way for people to express how they felt about society in their music in the 1980s.

There are two different types of hip-hop, political rap and gangster rap. In the 1980s, hip-hop was more about politics and what was going on in the society in black community.

Negative gangster rap started in the 1990s with NWA and other rap groups. Rappers were talking more about drugs, violence, money, and women. This arguably has led kids to become more violent and disrespectful.

A lot of kids and the black community follow what they see on TV and try and to imitate what they see.

America generally portrays hip-hop as being negative. Gangster rap videos downgrade women and are being played worldwide with kids watching.

It is not only listened in the black community, but also in suburban areas. Parents can see changes in their kids by the way they talk and the way they act when they listen to rap music.

Hip-hop is a urban culture that a lot of people try to imitate.

Anyone can be hip-hop, but you have to love the culture and understand its real meaning. Hip-hop should be embraced as something that has changed the society for the good.

The good outweighs the bad in hip-hop society because it's a part of the black culture.

The media can say that hip-hop is all bad, but that is not the case. Hip-hop will never die.
