Frustrated, down, and angry was the mood for the women's soccer team on Friday Oct. 19 when they lost 3-2 to Cañada College.

The loss took Chabot out of the playoff picture for now, and had they won, their ranking would have gone up.

But on Tuesday, all of it was forgotten as the Lady Gladiators demolished Hartnell College 7-2.

"We [her and the other captains] told our teammates that we need to play our game and that we are working too hard to suffer another loss," said captain and defender Kiri Jones about coming out to win and shake off the previous emotional loss.

With six minutes left, in Friday's Cañada game, until the final whistle blew, the Lady Gladiators let their emotions get the best of them and allowed Cañada to score two goals.

The first half featured the Lady Gladiators controlling the ball and keeping possession.

But the Cañada defense would not allow the Lady Gladiators to get anything rolling with their offense.

In the second half, the game started to become more physical as Cañada opened up the score in the 50th minute and went ahead 1-0.

The Lady Gladiators came back 26 minutes later and tied the game with a goal from Natalie Arteaga, making the score 1-1.
From that point on, the game started to get really rough.

The Cañada team started pushing, tripping and playing a dirty game against the Lady Gladiators. The referee only called some of the fouls and when he did, no yellow card was given.

A couple of minutes after the Lady Gladiators tied the game; Cañada's goalie wrapped her arms around Arteaga and threw her to the ground.

The referee granted a penalty kick to the Lady Gladiators and Arteaga made the goalie pay and put the Chabot up 2-1.

As the game started to come to an end, Cañada continued to foul and play very hard against the Lady Gladiators.

Lady Gladiator midfielder, Liana Arteaga, was repeatedly getting fouled and pushed to the ground.

The Lady Gladiators saw this and started to smack to the Cañada players and vice versa.

The rough play became so bad that it completely had the Lady Gladiators out of sync.
