"We played consistently," said Esmeralda Lacayo as the Lady Gladiators posted a score of 2-0.
The first half of the game, little offense would be seen. Both teams weren't able to penetrate each others defenses.
Butte would press, yet was unable to do anything. The Lady Gladiators would see the same fate. Both teams went into half time with good chances of pulling away with a victory.
With a fresh half beginning, the Lady Gladiators finally had some rhythm going, pressing the Butte defense and keeping them on their toes.
Soon the Lady Gladiators would find momentum swinging in their favor.
Receiving a free kick from a Butte foul, Chabot would find nothing but net.
Natalie Arteaga kicked the ball for the first goal of the game with 27:50 left and she was not done yet.
Arteaga went on to seal the deal with her second and final goal of the game, leading the Lady Gladiators to a 2-0 win.
The Lady Gladiators demonstrated solid teamwork with effective passing, efficient defense, and overall more energy.
"This season we are a lot better. We play as a team," said defender Kiri Jones.
"We play as one instead of 10. Playing at home also gave us a better advantage."
Unfortunately the Lady Gladiators three-game winning streak came to an end on Tuesday when they hosted Cabrillo and lost 5-1.
The Lady Gladiators fell flat as Cabrillo came in to Chabot and dominated most of the game.
Cabrillo quickly went on top, and the Lady Gladiators' only bright spot came when Liana Arteaga scored for the Glads in the first half.
The Lady Gladiators did their best to try to put the ball in the net in the second half, but the Cabrillo defense was too much and to strong.
