The Chabot College football team traveled to San Francisco this past Saturday when they suffered their second straight loss to City College of San Francisco 49-23.

The Gladiators offense came out very strong when they took the ball first.

The Gladiators ran the ball hard and up the gut of the Rams defense.

On a third and long situation, Gladiator quarterback Eric Carrillo connected with his wide receiver Doug Cech on a slant route.

Cech then ran the ball to the Rams one-yard line.

On the next play the Gladiators handed the ball off to running back Bennie Horton who went in for the score and gave the Gladiators their only lead of the game, 6-0 as the extra point was blocked.

Things still looked promising for the Gladiators as they stopped the Rams on their first drive.

But the Gladiators' ensuing drive was the beginning of the end.
After going three and out, the Gladiators had their punt blocked and the Rams took the punt to the end zone and went ahead 7-6 with 5:30 left in the first quarter.

The Rams offense then exploded for 28 points in the second quarter on the Gladiators defense.

The Rams defense shut the Gladiators offense down and didn't allow them to get anything going.

As the Rams defense quickly made the Gladiators give the ball back to their offense, the Gladiators defense was on the field an awful lot.

The Rams offense did whatever they wanted on a tired Gladiators defense and the Rams went into the half with a comfortable lead of 35-9.

In the beginning of the third quarter, the Rams quickly put the nail in the coffin as their running back scored two minutes into the third quarter.

When all hope seemed lost, the Gladiators got a spark from their defensive end Allen Likiliki, as he stripped the ball from the Rams and the Gladiators recovered the fumble.

Yet once again, the Rams defense stopped the Gladiators from putting up any more points on the board.

At the start of the fourth quarter, the Gladiators were forced to punt the ball again to the Rams.

The Rams then showcased their special teams and scored as they took the punt and returned it for another touchdown, putting them ahead 49-9.
