Shoot 'Em Up is good reminiscent of Looney Tunes and Crank.

Imagine a movie in which the main character brutally rams a carrot into someone's head, protects a pregnant woman who is delivering her baby, shoots off her umbilical cord, and then carries her baby in one arm and defends them both all while in the middle of a vicious shoot out.

This is what you can expect from the action/thriller/comedy film Shoot 'Em Up, written and directed by Michael Davis.
This film is rated R for pervasive strong, bloody violence, sexuality and some vulgar language.

Clive Owen plays Mr. Smith a seemingly expert and heroic marksman who gets involved in the story when trying to save a pregnant woman while he was originally waiting at a bus stop. Mr. Hertz, played by Paul Giamatti, is intelligent yet ruthless. He is after the baby that Mr. Smith is trying to protect.

Monica Bellucci plays DQ, a prostitute who specializes in lactating fetishes, but still has a good enough heart to care for the baby by performing some work and contributes by buying the baby a bulletproof vest commenting that, "It's a better investment than a crib."

The creator gained the idea from Looney Tunes and decided to make it into a mature action movie where Bugs Bunny is Mr. Smith who is constantly eating carrots and killing people with them. He manages frequently to trick and avoid or escape from Elmer Fudd (Mr. Hertz) wjp is always after him and constantly throwing out one liners like "Oh, you're a wicked rabbit."

This film is entertaining and intriguing is its sense of style, with warped humor and implausible yet enthrallingly outrageous action scenes.

Surprisingly, the acting takes you by surprise because it's great for a movie with such implausible acts. But it stills leaves you very entertained and gives you just enough room to see what you need to from the characters.

This film is also slightly reminiscent of the movie Crank, due to its constant action and pacing throughout the film. This film has things that are so overblown that it takes the audience to the brink of head-spinning laughter.

The only thing that could perhaps bring the movie down a hair is the lack of plot and time for the full development of most of the characters. But when it comes to a movie like this, you kind of accept this and realize that it is part of the self-parody of it all.

Shoot 'Em Up is good enough to watch in the theaters, and even to pay the full price, because you will definitely be entertained and have a good time while watching this outrageously fun film, especially if you love action movies and can understand the self-parody and humor of it all.
