Defensive line coach, Chester McGlockton tells his Chabot players what they should be doing.

In addition to the Chabot football Gladiators coaching staff is former National Football League player Chester McGlockton.

Chabot College is honored to have a former NFL star who is able to share some of his professional knowlege with our players. This is a privilege to not only the players but the school.

Drafted out of Clemson University, in South Carolina, he was a first round pick of the Oakland Raiders in 1992.

He would play six seasons with the Raiders, garnishing four bids to go to Honolulu for the NFL Pro Bowl, all with the Raiders.

McGlockton had the chance to play with many great NFL players such as Larry Allen, Tim Brown, Terrell Davis, and John Elway.
According to NFL.com he posted 51 sacks, two forced fumbles, and four interceptions.

Throughout his 12-year NFL career playing on the defensive line, he had stints with the Kansas City Chiefs, Denver Broncos, and ended his career in 2003 with the New York Jets.

He will be coaching the defensive line with the Gladiators.

He brings many useful experiences for Chabot's football team.

"I am looking to the coaching experience. I needed the work and it's been good for me," said McGlockton

McGlockton added, "Chabot had a void in the defensive line coach position and I helped filled it. I am thankful for this opportunity.

"Chabot is different and there is a whole different atmosphere here. Coach Cal and all of the other coaches have helped me out by sharing their experiences," said McGlockton.

"The team was excited to hear that Chester McGlockton would be coming in to coach this season," said the head ball coach Danny Calcagno.

Defensive lineman Sapili Tuigamala esaid, "His experiences will be really helpful to the players.

"He wants full speed every day and the guys to work hard."

The former NFL player emphasized that he wants his players to play hard.

He also wants them to do everything that he asks them to do.

Another thing that McGlockton wants from his players is to understand that it takes a lot of hard work to be a good player.
A point he stresses to his players is that he wants the players to make the right choices in their personal lives in order to gain success.
