Avid iPod addict? Got the iPod, iPhone, and waiting for the newest iAddition to the iFamily?

If you're an iFanatic you have probably already heard about the newest iProduct to hit the market.

The iPod Touch; it's like an iPhone without the phone, and like an iPod with WiFi.
It has a sleek body with a 3.5 inch widescreen display and touch screen.

It is currently selling at $299 for 8GB and $399 for 16GB and will be shipped out on Sept. 28.

These new handheld technological wonders hold 1,750 songs for the 8GB or 10,000 photos, and 3,500 for the 16GB with 22 hours of music or 20,000 photos and five hours of video playback.

With the brand new iPod Touch on the market, the prices of older model iPods have dropped, and despite having its debut only three months ago in June, the iPhone also had a major price reduction and is up to $200 less.

The 1GB iPod shuffle has stayed at $79, the 2GB iPod shuffle has dropped from $149 to $129, the 4GB iPod Nano dropped from $199 to $149, the 8GB iPod nano dropped from $249 to $199, the 30GB iPod dropped from $249 to $229, and the 80GB iPod dropped from $349 to $249.

The iPod Nano is now even advertised as a free gift with the purchase of a Mac computer in the Chabot College Bookstore.

This deal ends Sept. 15. Not in the market for a new computer? The iPod Nano can be found at its new reduced price also in the bookstore.

Although the iPod touch is the most talked about item, it is not the only new product that Apple has announced.

Others include the new iPod Classic which has a sleeker design, up to 40 hours of battery life, can hold 40,000 songs or 200 hours of video or combination of each, and an enhanced interface.

This model comes with a price tag of $249 for the 80GB and $349 for the 160GB.

Also new is the redesigned iPod Nano. It is 6.5mm thin and plays up to 5 hours of video or 24 hours of audio per charge.

It has a larger and brighter display and enhanced inter-face. It has more pixels per inch than any other iPod display screen.

The iPod Shuffle has all new remixed colors including silver, blue, green, red, and turquoise. It clips onto your clothes and holds up to 240 songs.

With all the new iPods coming out are they worth the hype?

The new setup may be a little confusing in the beginning, especially when navigating between songs, Internet and texting.

For this issue Apple has placed tips on its Web page. The touch screen models are easy to use but make typing a little weird, due to the fact that you cannot press the keys down.

Overall, there is a split opinion on these new products, between the skeptics who question the longevity and wear-and-tear of these products, the iFanatics who cannot live without them, and those consumers who bought the full-priced version of the iPhone only three months ago.
