Music department making some noise

If you have a passion for music, Chabot music department is offering a new program this fall.

The music program has new technology where you can record your CDs or demos on campus in Room 1200.

The music program allows Chabot students to explore the professional field with music and other technical skills new technology.

The program has three different instructors who all briing something different.

Tim Harris, music instructor, stated, "There was a need to develop a technology center course for the students of Chabot."

The music program has been promoting the new class on commercial channels such as Comcast and other sources.

The two people who thought of this idea were Harris, and fellow insructor Jon Palacio.

They have been teaching at Chabot for a combined total of 9 years.

Chabot has also added a new instructor to the program; his name is John Willison, the new music tech instructor.

Harris stated, "John is a great addition to the music program, he has helped in several movies such as Lord of the Rings and the Matrix."

There is also a music program offered at Ex'pression College for Digital Arts in Emeryville.

This program is much more expensive.

Chabot's program provides students with the knowledge and skills to help shape the cutting edge of audio creation.

The Chabot music program will perform in the Sacramento California Association for Music Education Conference for the State Music Educators Spring Concert.

Chabot is the only two-year college performing in the symphony.
