Physical education instructor Ross Shoemaker suffered a fatal heart attack and passed away on Saturday, May 5. He was 65.
A nationally ranked Masters swimmer, Shoemaker had just finished a competitive swim with his team the San Mateo Marlins before collapsing on deck; he could not be revived.
Change is a good thing right? Some people aren't so sure. With a new construction plan getting ready to change the face of Chabot College, students have mixed feelings.
The plans to rebuild and remodel some of buildings at Chabot has been delayed. Students are now worried about the construction soon to be taking place.

The results of the Associated Students of Chabot College second election were released on Friday, May 18. (As reported in the May 3 issue of the Spectator, the first election was voided due to discrepancies in the ASCC election code.) A total of 220 students voted in the second election.
