Mother's Day gives us a chance to thank our moms for the lovely things they do and put up with.

A gift doesn't have to cost a lot to be original and heart felt. Some ideas to consider are spending the evening enjoying dinner with your mother or creating a gift of your own.

Traditional gifts such as flowers and chocolates are great ideas too. Also, don't forget your grandma's, they are mothers too. Just remember your mothers and grandmothers would be grateful to spend time with you.

Gifts to give

Flowers are also a great gift idea but not very original when roses are given. Try to pick out flowers at a florist that you like or think your mother would like. Most florists will help you with the arrangement and if you give them a price range they will try and help you stay within your budget.

A delicious box of chocolates hand picked at Godiva or See's Candy will cost you $5 and up depending on how many chocolates and which assortments your pick.

Homemade photo album or scrap books with images of you and your mother over the years is a sentimental gift that is sure to put a smile on your mother's face. This gift takes a little more time and thought but will last longer than flowers and chocolate and can often cost less to create.
