Francisco Zermeño, full-time Spanish teacher at Chabot, is working hard to create a faculty committee that will be devoted to helping the college become more ecological friendly. The environment has always been something of concern to a society that is dealing with such grave threats like global warming.

History is one of the most common subjects students can barely keep themselves awake while sitting through a lecture or reading the textbook. However, the subject of history is a necessity for all students to take, not only as a requirement for graduation, but to better understand the past and how the world that exists has come to be the way it is today.

One of the many historic movie theaters in the Bay Area continues to keep its dream of reopening alive. The San Lorenzo movie theater on Hesperian Boulevard, known to many as the "Lorenzo" Theater, is getting ready to be bought out by the foundation that strives to keep the Lorenzo open.

V show on MTV which features old junk cars turned into works of art. In an episode which aired a few weeks ago, the intro started with a message from Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. He started off with the message that fossil fuels, including those in the oil fuel industry should help the environment.

Striving Black Brothers

The Striving Black Brothers Coalition of Chabot College used a motto on their East Coast Spring Break excursion once said by Ernest Gaines. "Words mean nothing…Action is the only thing…Doing. That's the only thing." Founder and Advisor Art Barboza, Outreach Specialist for EOPS, used that phrase many times in which he promised to show more with actions and do less talking when leading the Brothers on their excursion.

Half of all Human Immuno-deficiency Virus (HIV) cases are high school and college-age student, 15-24 years of age. National HIV Testing Day promotes the test and encourages knowledge of this virus. There are various community health centers offering free testing through out the Bay Area.
