When you go to Mimi's Cafe, one of the many things that you will enjoy will be the artistic architecture.

Families look forward to nights where they can sit down and enjoy a dinner with each other and recount the day. Mother cooks the meal, the children clean off the table, and if you are lucky, the father washes the dishes.

The preparations for these dinners sometimes seem to take away from the true essence of a "family dinner" and changes into more of a "family night of chores."

So what is the solution? Go out and enjoy a meal that was cooked by someone else. And what better place could a family go to than to the newest franchise to come to Hayward.

This new little café is decorated to tell the story of the man who started Mimi's.

Mimi was a Parisian prostitute who caught the eye of a military man. The man desired to marry her, but of course due to her nefarious life style, she could not be considered the marrying type, therefore to show his love for her, he opened a café in her name.

The café was later sold to Bob Evans who turned it into a franchise. Though the restaurant's history may not be a bedtime story, customers still find the atmosphere to be relaxing.

The menu is very diverse, offering different types of salads and sandwiches, which includes hamburgers that are cooked to perfection. And for those of you who are of age, there is a full bar with an assortment of mixed drinks.

Overall the food is quite tasty. For starters, do not order anything. The café offers complementary bread, which is baked freshly and is served hot and ready to eat.

The main courses are of a fairly large size and therefore will fill you up without a doubt. But, if you are still hungry after your main meal, try the brownie sundae.

One can enjoy a lovely meal and enlighting atmospere for only $15 per person. So next time you are planning a family meal, try Mimi's Café.
