Chabot's golf team captures its 12th conference championship

The Gladiator golf team went to the Par 72 Las Positas Golf course and once again captured another first place finish to secure Chabot College's 12th Conference championship.
Chabot scored a Nor Cal, and team record 351 to win the Las Positas tournament, and bring home back-to-back conference wins.
The Gladiators' Coast Conference first place 122 total points were only challenged by Cabrillo's 112.
Chabot, and Cabrillo were the only two teams to break the 100 point mark and left a 60-plus point difference between them and Canada's 60.
Monterey Peninsula College also finished the Coast Conference with 60 points, and rounded off the bottom of the standings with Foothill, which scored 57 conference points, and San Jose City College which scored 54.
At the Las Positas Golf Tournament held Monday April 23, Cabrillo college scored a 378 to finish in second place 27 points behind the Gladiators score of 351.
Canada scored a 379 at the tournament to finish third, and Foothill and San Jose tied for fourth place in the tournament with a 404, while Monterey Peninsula College finished all the way in last place with a final score of 405.
Chabot College sophomore Scott Steelman shot a bogey free 68 to lead his team and the field.
Bobby Warren went swing for swing with Steelman and shot a 69 on the day.
Steelman and Rechedy were the top two competitors in the tournament.
Not to be out done, Nick Rechedy, and Eric Crociata both shot a 70 and tied for third on the team, and the field.
Of the top five finishers on the day the top four were Gladiators.
Jeff Murphy is the overall Coast Conference individual leader, but unfortunately his 74 placed him fifth on the team and tied him for eighth in the field.
Tony Guerrero shot a 77 to finish the day for the Gladiators.
