The coast conference Championships started yesterday with several events FINALS.

David McDonald became the first League Champion winning the Javelin.

Rob Gire took second in the Hammer with a personal best of 140'.

Jasmine Brooks took third in the long Jump and Sheila Cleland and Laura Zimbreck placed in both the Hammer and Javelin, while Kassidy Rowley had a PR in the Javelin and placed fourth.

Linda Saunders took second in the Pole vault with a seasons best of 8'9" and Nicholas Sigmon and Craig Simpson also scored for Chabot.

Many other competitors moved onto the finals Saturday beginning at 11:30 at College of San Mateo.

Kyle Robinson and Aaron Macklin won their heats and are rated number one for Saturday as well as Robert Gire in the Discus and Darryl Turner in the Triple Jump and Jasmine Brooks in the Triple Jump.

Last Friday (April 20) the men and women track team competed at Diablo Valley College the men placed third (out of thirty teams) with 63.5 points behind American River 64.5 and Modesto 86.

The women placed 6th with 49 points behind Monterey with 49.5 San Mateo 51, American River 72, Modesto 73 and Diablo Valley with 119.

Top finishers at DVC were Aaron Macklin in the 400 hurdles winning in 56.14, Darryl Turner winning the triple Jump at 44'4" and the mens 4x400 relay team with a victory in the last event of the evening.
