The Chabot College baseball team continues to blaze a trail to the playoffs.

With an overall record of 25-10 and an incredible 16-2 league record that includes a six-game win streak with less than a month before the playoffs begin.

Hosting Monterey Peninsula College April 12, the Gladiators got into a fight to the death, and walked away breathing 4-2.

Tyler Rogers got the start for Chabot, pitching six innings allowing just one earned run on two hits, two base on balls, and eight strike outs.

John Anderson got the win, pitching two innings giving up just one earned run on two hits and two strike outs, and Eric Basurto picked up the save.

Both Rylan Sandoval and Kevin Santiago were two for four with Sandoval picking up two runs batted in.

Rob Learned had an RBI on one hit in two at bats. And Zack Cadet picked up the remaining RBI for Chabot.

Charles Roberson was the only Gladiator not to get a hit in the game.

Gavilan rolled into town on April 16 and went home with a 14-10 loss.

Erik Stavert started the game but could only put in three innings worth of work, giving up two earned runs on six hits and four walks.

Aaron Buenrostro then entered the game and proceeded to give up six runs, five of which were earned, on four hits and one walk.

Buenrostro was the only Gladiator pitcher not to record a strike out on the day.

Bryce Mendonca had four hits in five at bats, one of which was a double, scored twice, gathered himself an RBI, and still had time enough to steal three bases.

Rob Learned collected four RBIs after hitting a home run in one of his two hits in three at bats, and Matt DeJesus hit a three run bomb of his own.

After warming up the bats against Gavilan, Chabot traveled to the City College of San Francisco and destroyed them 18-3.

Sandoval was three for six on the day with two runs scored, two RBI, two doubles, and the only home run for the day.

Santiago was two for three, with a double, a triple, and three runs scored.

Chabot will play at home against Ohlone College Saturday April 24.
