Delayed safety response in tragic event has caused questions about how fast Chabot College will react

In light of recent events at Virginia Tech, Chabot College is in the process of adding more emphasis on unexpected campus emergencies and incorporating response into the school's disaster plan. Virginia Technical University experienced Monday the worst school shooting massacre in United States history, leaving 33 people dead, and 15 injured.

Local colleges and universitys take Earth Day further by making it a week long celebration

More than 30 years ago, a man by the name of John McConnell founded the first Earth Day celebration. The International Earth Day festivities are meant to take place during the spring equinox, which symbolizes rebirth and renewal on March 20. Nationwide, it is celebrated on April 22; it is a secular holiday, observed mostly in English-speaking countries.
