The Jaguars started the game by scoring two runs in the first inning and they continued to punish the Gladiators' starting pitcher, Tyler Rogers.
Rogers Cureently has a 2.08 earned run average, and is 2-2. Rogers has struck out 31 batters in just 26 innings of work.
Rogers faced nine batters in the top of the second, and allowed five runs, two of them off a home run to left field.
Although he struggled, Rogers did not get much help from his defense.
In the top of the fourth two Jaguar runners reached base on bunts towards second, and a base hit in between the shortstop and third baseman.
With one out, a Jaguar batter hit a ball deep to left towards the warning track and Gladiator left fielder Kevin Santiago could not make the catch as he hit the wall, allowing the base runner to score from second.
The next batter hit a hard ground ball up the middle, scoring two more runs, which put the Jaguars ahead 10-1.
Along with Chabots' pitching woes, the Gladiators' bats were fast asleep.
Chabot would get a runner on base, but would fail to move him over by grounding out and popping out.
Santiago hit a lead off solo home run in the bottom of the fourth but Chabot could not start a rally.
Santiago is hitting .349 this year, and is second on the team with 26 RBIs.
New Gladiator pitcher Charlie Ruiz returned the favor by giving up a solo home run to the Jaguars in the top of the fifth.
Matt Dejesus tried to ignite the rest of the Gladiators' bats by hitting a solo home run to right; yet Chabot still could not pull it together.
DeJesus is hitting .340 with 16 RBIs, a .638 slugging percentage and a .415 on base percentage.
The Gladiators' offense finally woke up in the bottom of the seventh when Zack Cadet drove in a run with a base hit and Jeff Bernacil hit a triple, adding two more runs and pulling the Gladiators within five runs.
But the Chabot pitcher could not hold it together in the top of the ninth, allowing the Jaguars to score three more runs, pushing their lead 14-6.
The Gladiators did make a rally in the bottom of the ninth scoring four more runs but it was too little too late.
Chabot ended up losing the game 14-10
