However, one club officer does not have problem with combination of events, just the ASCC control of the ICC. Denny Grebe, president and ICC representative for Chabot's GSA said, "I proposed the idea to the ICC (Inter-Club Council) for the rally to be the same day as Club Day. But I feel that the ASCC is imposing too much on the ICC. The ICC is acting as a puppet to the ASCC. I believe that the ICC is being governed too much by the ASCC and ICC should be its own separate entity."
Though the rally may or may not present a hindrance on the clubs, most officers are not thrilled about the tardiness of Club Day. According to Badar the tardiness is compliments of the new clubs. He said, "We had a problem with some clubs saying they didn't know about Club Day and that they needed more time to prepare. Therefore, we postponed Club Day for the new clubs."
However, this was not enough a reason for some clubs anticipating the publicity to be gained on Club Day. Grebe says, "Club Day should be a the very beginning of the semester or at least three weeks into the semester. There is no reason to have it now. Clubs who are not ready to participate at the beginning of the semester should not participate."
Regardless of the tardiness, the ICC will be hosting Club Day alongside the rally and students will be there promoting their clubs, so whichever "clique" students may belong to, they can come and enjoy the food and festivities.
