Gladiator pitcher Jesse Madrid delivers to the plate in Chabot's 7-2 victory over Ohlone.

The Gladiators came out on Tuesday and dominated the Ohlone Renegades, winning by a score of 7-2.

The Gladiators got strong pitching from Jesse Madrid, who pitched seven innings allowing only two hits and no runs. In return, the rest of the Gladiators scored seven runs off 11 hits.

The Gladiators broke the game open in the bottom of the second. With two outs, Jeff Bernacil hit a double to deep center putting him in scoring position for Charles Roberson.

Roberson came up and delivered a base hit up the middle, scoring Bernacil from second.

After Madrid retired the side, Bryce Mendonca hit a base hit, right past the Renegades second baseman. On a 1-0 count, Zack Cadet hit a triple over the Ohlone's right fielders head, scoring Mendonca.

The next batter, Rylan Sandoval, came up and hit a sacrifice fly to center, putting the Gladiators in the lead 3-0.

Madrid continued his dominating performance by striking out the batters and getting help from his defense.

The Gladiators again scored in the sixth inning. After a Rob Learned walk, Bernacil hit a double on a 1-2 count scoring Learned. A wild pitch then moved Bernacil to third while Matt Dejesus was batting.

Dejesus then hit a double, scoring Bernacil.

The Gladiators continued to bring out the bats in the bottom of the seventh with Mendonca starting the inning off with a double.

Cadet then tried to bunt Mendonca over but he popped up, luckily the Ohlone third baseman could not make the catch which advanced Mendonca to third and Cadet reached first safely.

Sandoval hit a sacrifice fly to right on a 3-2 count, allowing Mendonca to come in and score.

After a walk, Learned came in and hit a base hit to left, past the diving Renegades third baseman, scoring Cadet.

The Renegades finally got a run in the top of the eighth off a check swing to left and scored again in the top of the ninth on a base hit to shallow left.

The win now pushes the Gladiators overall record to 10-7 and 3-0 in conference play, with 22 games remaining on their schedule.
