Legend to perform with Chabot jazz students

Grammy award winner and trumpet virtuoso, Lew Soloff, makes an appearance tomorrow night

Friday, March 9, at 8 p.m., the Chabot College Jazz Orchestra and Jazz Ensemble will be performing at the Performing Arts Center. They will be performing along with trumpet legend, Lew Soloff. Lew Soloff was born in New York City on Jan. 20, 1944, and has been playing the trumpet since he was 10 years old.

Service-learning gives students pride for the community

Faculty members Susan Gill and Katie Hern are involved in the service-learning program at Chabot. This program works to solve the problem of the lack of student engagement in the composition classroom. The program targets: increased self-esteem of helping others, connection to class works with real life experiences, relevancy and responsibility.
