Transferring from Chabot can be difficult if you do not use your resources. There are multiple resources that you can use and should use, not one by one, but all at once.
There is one simple thing that any student can do without appointments or extensive research: Check out these Springboard to Transfer courses which are explained in every course catalog and more extensively in the college catalog. They can be purchased at the bookstore. Following those courses can simplify your transfer track but aren't all you need to transfer for your specific major.
You can start at Chabot College by going to the Transfer Center in Room 146. There are various services that you can engage in by visiting a counselor at the center.
This includes student education plans, transfer planning, and previous course evaluations. All of these can help you on your way to transferring but are not the only things you need.
On the Transfer Center Web Site is a link to the GWExtranet calendar page for the upcoming events and workshops. It is best to check this regularly if not weekly because new representatives and events are booked all the time.
The last bit of advice, though not at all the least, is to visit the colleges and universities that you are interested and set up appointments with the admissions counselors there.
If you want to go even further you can try to schedule an appointment with an academic advisor or the chair of the department of the major you are interested in.
Taking these steps can help ensure that you understand what the coursework and atmosphere is like a that particular school.
By following at least some of these steps I hope you can be better prepared for transferring and getting out of Chabot alive.
