The Gladiators scored four runs in the eighth inning after being down 3-2, two of those runs coming off a home run from Trevor Sampson.
Solano scored first in the top of the second with a two-out single up the middle. The Gladiator's came right back in the bottom of the second with a single from Kevin Santiago. Santiago then advanced to second on a wild pitch.
After two batters recorded outs, Santiago took another base off a wild pitch to put him safely on third. Unfortunately, Josh Riche struck out to end the inning, leaving Santiago stranded on third.
The following innings consisted of errors, runners being stranded, and pop-ups. But things would change in the bottom of the second.
Riche hit a single between first and second, and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Carlton Steudeman hit a hard grounder to second, moving Riche over to third on a fielder's choice.
The next batter, Stephan Gatehouse, hit a single down the third base line, bringing in Riche to tie the game up at 1-1.
The Gladiators took their first lead when Santiago hit a home run to left field with two outs.
Solano came back to reclaim the lead 3-2 in the seventh inning, scoring runs off a bunt down first base and a single to center.
But the Chabot did not let this bring them down. The Gladiators came back in the bottom of the eighth determined to not only take back the lead, but also win.
When the first two batters came up and popped out on the first pitch, Rob Learned came up and hit a single, setting the stage for Jeff Bernacil who hit a line drive into the right-center field gap that scored Learned.
Riche came up and hit the first pitch he saw to the exact spot where Bernacil hit his triple allowing Bernacil to score. Sampson then came up and put the game out of reach for Solano. On a 1-1 count, he crushed the ball to left field.
The two-run home run put the Gladiator's up 6-3 and finished off the visiting Solano team so they could not recover the lead.
