Black History Month Event
The Students for Social Justice will be hosting the movie, Negroes With Guns, showing and discussing the film for Black History Month. The event will be today at noon in Room 520.
Retired Faculty Member Dies
Ronald D. Arroyo, Ron as he liked to be called, passed away Monday, Feb. 12, after a brief illness. Ron was a beloved counselor, who started his career at Chabot in 1984 and retired in 2004. He served as a counselor/instructor in the EOPS and CARE programs for many years.
Financial Aid Workshops & Festival
The Chabot Financial Aid Office will host a Financial Aid Festival on Saturday, Feb. 24, from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. This multilingual event is open to any student in the community who wants help completing their FAFSA application, regardless of where he/she will attend college in the fall.
Transfer Center
Students will be able to speak with representatives from CSU East Bay by appointment on Feb. 22 starting at 10 a.m.
Auditions for the Drama Department's spring musical, Ragtime
Instructor-director, Margo Hall, is looking for actors who can play the following: African-Americans that compose the community of Harlem, civil rights leader, Booker T. Washington, newly-arrived immigrants from Eastern Europe, a grandfather, Caucasian, playing a character 60 years old or older. All who are interested, may contact director Hall at (510) 723-6600 ext. 2563. For further information, see the Web site ragtime14.googlepages.com. Ragtime opens in April.
