John Parente discovers a different and creative way to instruct his class

Mysticism, religion, and the fullness of life, these are three things that come to mind when you think of humanities instructor, John Parente.
Parente has been teaching and affecting the lives of his students for the past 20 years. He describes his experience as "Wonderful; creative; expansive; heart-full; growth-producing; exhaustive; life-enriching, transformative and meaningful!"
Parente is extremely well-versed in his field.
Chabot College has been around for 45-plus years since it was built in 1961. However, in recent years it's been the focus of a controversial study of whether the old campus buildings are up to code.
One of the architecture instructors, Tim Steele, comments on how safe the buildings are at Chabot.
On Feb. 9, the Community Education department put on a night of entertainment to promote the various classes being taught. Holly Shaw, the Flamenco dancing instructor, demonstrates some of the various dances that she will teach this year. She performed a type of dance called Guajiras, which originates in Cuba.
