The 44th annual Battle of the Bands presented by the Hayward Area Park and Recreation District is being held this Saturday Feb. 10 in Chabot's own Performing Arts Center. Tickets will be only $8.
Over the past years the battle has showcased local talent whose band's participants went on to sign to major labels.
This year the top 12 finalists will battle it out in front of a panel of qualified judges who will pick one winner to win some great prizes.
From all over the Bay Area bands such as Stereo Chromatic, 2 Endeavor, Liquid, The Figureheads, Peaceable Jones, The Grand Façade, Billy The Kid, Jocelle Cruz Music, Silent Chair, and Lee Harvey and the 2nd Shooters will be performing.
Returning to the contest this year are the New Beat, a band made up of three brothers all under the age of 18 who play classic tunes, and occasionally cover classic Mexican folk songs. As veterans of the contest, they're sure to know how to 'wow' the crowd and win the votes of the judges.
Newcomers to the contest are going to be The Feeders. Fusing classic rock with punk and heavy rock, they provide a blend of music that will be familiar sounding to the crowd, yet they have their own twist, providing new music sounds for the listeners.
For a music-induced Saturday night, you can come down to the Center catch 12 amazing bands that all have something unique and different musically to offer all for the amazing price. You just might be watching the next U2.
