From the opening tip off the Lady Glad's did not have to worry about Monterey. Lyndsey Mietz scored the first six points and the Lady Glad's then went on a 16-2 run in the first eight minutes.
Angela Goodall and Tiennifer Rowe made their presence felt on the defensive, side along with the rest of the team by grabbing every rebound they could.
The Lady Glads did not allow any second chance points and held their opponents to just one shot or caused them to turn the ball over every time they came down.
Goodall and Mietz both finished the game with a double double. Goodall scored a game high 24 points wth 13 rebounds and Mietz ended up with 17 points and 10 rebounds. The Lady Glad's went into halftime up 32-11.
The second half continued to be the same story. Goodall and Mietz continued to score at will, while the rest of the Lady Glads continued to play hard defense.
During the middle of the second half, the Lady Glads began to turn the ball over, allowing Monterey to get back in the game.
But the team quickly put an end to that run with their well played defense, causing Monterey to give the ball back.
With five minutes left in the game, Mietz put up a shot that hit the rim, causing a scramble for the ball. Mietz ended up with the rebound, drove down the lane, and gave a nice dish to Goodall for the layup, putting the game out of reach.
The Lady Glad's won the game 57-32.
After a day's of rest, the Lady Glad's went back to work on Friday to play against San Francisco City College.
Unfortunately for the Lady Glads it was a whole different story.
Goodall again had another double-double, scoring 14 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Nokie brown was the next highest scorer with only 6 points.
Jennifer Wong and Tiennifer Rowe both had 4 points, but the Lady Glads could not come up with another win. This pushed the team's record to 0-6 in the conference and 4-20 overall.
The Chabot women will next play at Skyline Community College Feb. 2.
