Chabot brings home 3rd place

The Chabot College Gladiator basketball team brought this season's record to 7-5, after finishing 2-1 and placing third in the Hartnell tournament held in Salinas Thursday, Friday, and Saturday Dec. 7-9.
After defeating Butte College in the first round of the tournament 87-79, Chabot faced off against a hard-nosed, defensive minded Merced team.
Merced began the game with an 11-0 run that absorbed all the games momentum. Chabot fought back into it, 21-11, but couldn't get closer than 10 and went into the half down 10
Chabot continued to stay in the game through the lack of Merced's scoring ability, and stayed close enough to make a late second half surge to bring the final score closer than what the game really was, losing by a final of 51-64.
Chabot will host it's own tournament this coming weekend Dec. 15-17.
