Gladiators wrestle their way into twelveth place
Chabot has one placing wrestler in Sacramento Tournament

The Gladiator wrestling team entered the Sacramento Wrestling Tournament, and finished just outside the top 10, in 12th place.
The tournament, a statewide event, would be one in which competitors Arturo Lopez, Travis McCrea, Kevin Soltis, and James Durago would finish one match away from placing in the tournament.
Chabot's only placing wrestler was Jonathan Ronny, who would later suffer an abdominal injury, and would be forced to forfeit all the way down into fifth place.
Durago was also injured in the tournament, hurting his shoulder by a hyperextension while attempting a half-nelson manuver
Jennifer Cruz entered the 125-pound division and suffered a first round loss to Addison Hay of Bakersfield.
Cruz also had the good fortune of wrestling against another girl during the tournament.
Facing Kristen Cambell of Sacramento City College, Cruz was pinned and lost the match by fall in the second period.
Lopez entered the 133-pound class and lost in the second round to Mike Howard of West Valley in the championship bracket.
In third place bracketing Lopez was victorious over James West of Skyline, before falling to Daymond Bland of Sacramento City College in the second round.
McCrea entered the 149-pound division with Ronny, where both would advance beyond the second round.
McCrea defeated Will Matulich of Santa Rosa in the second, before losing to Chris Alves of Shasta in the third round.
Ronny would enjoy second and third round wins over competitors of Sierra Community College, but eventually lost to Alfonso Sanchez of Fresno City College in the fourth round.
In third place bracketing of the 149-pound weight class, McCrea would also enjoy a second round win, before losing to John Daly of Sacramento City College in the third.
Daly went on to defeat Ronny in the fourth round of this bracket.
Chabot next wrestles against Fresno City College on Wednesday Sept. 27. The next tournament will be on Saturday Sept. 30, at the Modesto Junior College Classic.
