The Gladiators saw their comeback season and playoff hopes fade away in a cold Saturday night at Chabot, as the rival Laney Eagles prevailed, 41-20. This marks the fifth straight year that Laney has beaten the Gladiators and repeated as the Golden Gate Conference champs. “This was the biggest loss ever,” said running back Brandon Thompson. “We have come through a lot this year and this just hurts.”
The Lady Gladiators put on an offensive and defensive showing on Tuesday night as they took care of business, beating Cabrillo 55-38. Monica Garcia led all of the Lady Gladiators with 17 points. Chabot is now 2-0 with a big game against a better opponent on Friday when the Lady Glads take on the College of the Siskiyous at 5 p.m.

The Gladiators seem to perpetually put themselves in positions conducive to failure. Dropped balls, over-thrown passes, fumbled snaps, penalties and missed assignments eventually became too much to overcome for Chabot, (5-5, 2-2), falling 32-0 to the Eagles Friday night.
