Jazz combos perform end–of–semester shows

Chabot jazz instructor Jon Palacio will be directing the upcoming jazz concerts.

Chabot’s jazz program is revving up for a slamming December with a few performances scheduled over the next week.

Tonight, the jazz combo will host a concert in the campus recital hall, Room 1232.

On Tuesday, Dec. 8, at 7:30 p.m. the Performing Arts Center (PAC) will be buzzing with music played by two jazz ensembles.  Opening that night will be the Chabot Jazz Lab, featuring former Chabot instructor and California Jazz Educator of the Year Frank Sumares.  Up second will be the Chabot Jazz Ensemble, directed by Chabot instructor Jon Palacio.  Tickets are $7 in advance, $10 at the door.

The Jazz Orchestra will be jamming in the PAC on Wednesday, Dec. 9.  The show starts at 7:30 p.m.  Price is $7 in advance, $10 at the door.
